Therapist in NY and CA

Treating disordered eating and anxiety

Who I work with:

My therapy practice focuses on helping adults and teenagers, with a specialization in supporting those struggling with anxiety and disordered eating.

How I work:

I start with new clients by identifying their goals for therapy, then work with them to uncover the underlying patterns, narratives and thoughts that affect their feelings and behaviors. My work is informed by psychodynamic, Jungian, and psychoanalytic theories, practiced through a trauma-informed lens.

Training:

My training is in depth psychotherapy, which seeks to illuminate the unconscious of both the individual and the collective. In my practice, I like to complement this more abstract and esoteric modality with concrete, practical interventions such as those from the cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy traditions.

Licensure and Education:

Licensed and registered in the state of New York as a Marriage and Family Therapist (# 002410) and in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (# 138865) and a Professional Clinical Counselor (# 13927). I hold a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Columbia University. Before my work in private practice, I trained at the Family and Children’s Association in New York, treating individuals struggling with addiction, and the Liberation Institute, a community mental health organization in San Francisco.
